The Economic Partnership Agreement, commonly referred to as the EPA, is a partnership between the European Union and the CARIFORUM side of the African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) grouping. The purpose of the agreement is to create an open market for inter-regional and intra-regional trade in goods and services, and to also allow Economic Partnership Agreements (EPAs) Economic Partnership Agreements, or EPAs, are new trade and development agreements between African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) countries and the EU. Most ACP countries are either in the process of adopting EPAs with the EU, or putting them into practice. The deals enable ACP countries to grow their economies in a sustainable way, and raise their citizens’ standard of living. And that’s in The EU and Japan's Economic Partnership Agreement entered into force on 1 February 2019. EU firms already export nearly €70bn in goods and €28bn in services to Japan every year.
